With the slogan ULTIMATEYOU – DESIGN YOUR VERY OWN JACKET, the company Mammut Sports Group AG went live on 25 March 2018 with a customization pilot project. An online configurator allows customers to customise a Softshell jacket for a maximum of 6 weeks and to choose from 25,000 combinations. The proven “pod – Pattern on Demand®” platform of Gertsch Consulting & Mode Vision from Zofingen in Switzerland was used. Digitisation, automation and individualisation are trends that permeate all sectors – including the clothing and fashion industry. Sustainability, speed, manufacture on demand and the involvement of the customer as co-designer play a central role here. With a corresponding pilot project, the company Mammut Sports Group AG would like to gain valuable experience in various areas of individualized clothing production. Since a very demanding timeframe for the implementation of the project was given, Mammut relied on the existing and proven platform “pod – Pattern on Demand®”. „pod – Pattern on Demand®“ The platform developed by Gertsch Consulting & Mode Vision in Zofingen, Switzerland, includes the entire workflow from the web shop with configurator to the fully automated production and dispatch of the required patterns and markers files in the corresponding formats for cutters or plotters to production – within minutes! The GRAFIS® CAD software is controlled by the platform to produce the necessary output for production. Also on board the online configurator is a completely new 3D visualization technology from Tronog d.o.o. from Slovenia. This allows the customer to visualize contrast or color combinations. With the implementation of this project, Gertsch Consulting once again proved the performance and flexibility of its “pod – Pattern on Demand®” platform. The customization pilot project runs for a maximum of six weeks, the number of softshell jackets is limited to a total of 200 – 100 each for men and women. During this time UltimateYou is exclusively available on the Swiss market. Switzerland was deliberately chosen as a test market, as Mammut’s roots here go back to 1862, to a ropery in the canton of Aargau. The jacket is completely produced in Europe.
